2005 Projects
The Classical Academy

Location: The Classical Academy

Square Footage: 86,000

Purpose: More information coming soon

Status: Completed Summer 2005. More information coming soon.

The Double Angel Foundation

Location: The Double Angel Foundation Baseball Complex                                      Parker, Colorado

Square Footage: 157,375

Purpose: Academy Sports Turf, working in conjunction with Sports One, asked DLH Architecture to provide the synthetic turf design for the first 2 of 4 baseball and softball fields to be built.

Status: Completed Summer 2005. These fields are in testament to two small children taken from this world before their time.

DLH Architecture is honored to have participated in this project.


2004 Projects
Thunder Ridge High School

Location: Thunder Ridge High School

Square Footage: 84,500

Purpose: Primarily a practice field for football, soccer, or lacrosse, capable of hosting games. Also, multifunctional for band and performing squad practices or recreational fund raising events.

Status: Completed Summer 2004. Access to this field was a challenge. The Thunder Ridge field is located on a side of hill which dictated how the field had to be addressed. DLH Architecture solved the field accessibility problem by working with the District to balance construction needs and protect existing infrastructures.

Yakima County Juvenile Detention Center

Location: Yakima County Juvenile Detention Center

Square Footage: 13,000

Purpose: Recreation yard for juvenile detention rehabilitative program. Yakima's climate and the limited space available did not support the growth of natural grass. Synthetic turf is a safe, durable and low maintenance solution.

Status: Completed Fall 2004. This project was a Design/ Build project. Volleyball lines are in laid.

Chaparral High School

Location: Chaparral High School

Square Footage: 84,500

Purpose: Primarily a practice field for football, soccer, or lacrosse, capable of hosting games. Also, multifunctional for band and performing squad practices or recreational fund raising events.

Status: Completed Summer 2004. This project was bid to sophisticated Landscape Contractors. Utilizing a customized delivery process allowed the School District to select the best valued turf system based on design specifications.

Erie High School

Location: Erie High School

Square Footage: 85,000

Purpose: Primarily use for football and soccer games. Also, multifunctional for band and performing squad practices or recreational fund raising events.

Status: Completed Summer 2004.

 

2003 Projects
Kent Denver High School

Location: Kent Denver High School

Square Footage: 96,436

Purpose: Home to the Sun Devils this field is the main playing field for a thriving soccer program. Kent Denver also had a synthetic turf Sun Devil logo made and installed hillside over looking the new synthetic turf field.

Status: Completed Summer 2003. Inlaid lines and numbers for soccer and football. Other lines painted seasonally.

Ponderosa High School

Location: Ponderosa High School

Square Footage: 100,500

Purpose: Douglas County School District in their commitment to provide positive educational environments removed the heavily worn main practice field and installed a new synthetic turf surface. This field supports football, soccer, lacrosse practices.

Status: Completed Summer 2003. The Mustangs of Ponderosa High School won the Colorado State High School 5A Football Championship in their initial year of playing on this new synthetic surface. The logo is painted. Inlaid lines and numbers for football, soccer, and lacrosse. Other lines painted seasonally.

Rock Canyon High School

Location: Rock Canyon High School

Square Footage: 93,898

Purpose: Primarily a practice field for football, soccer, or lacrosse, capable of hosting games. Also, multifunctional for band and performing squad practices or recreational fund raising events.

Status: Completed July 2003. Inlaid lines and numbers for football, soccer, and lacrosse. Other lines painted seasonally.

Highlands Ranch High School

Location: Highlands Ranch High School

Square Footage: 99,800

Purpose: This field is located on the edge of Metro Denver in one of the fastest growing counties in the country. The need for a playing surface is enormous. The District found synthetic turf to be the solution to the heavy demand.

Status: Completed summer 2003. The District has been able to actively recover the other fields on this site that were drought damaged because this new synthetic surface supports all activities and increased daily usage. Inlaid lines and numbers for football, soccer, and lacrosse. Other lines painted seasonally.

City and County of Denver - Ebert Elementary School

Location: CCD - Ebert Elementary School

Square Footage: 14,000

Purpose: For the City and County of Denver synthetic turf is the solution to the challenge of providing a safe playing surface within a limited playground space for Ebert Elementary School.

Status: Completed in 2003. Drainage was improved by incorporating a series of sub-sidewalk drainage tubes.

2002 Projects

Douglas County High School Stadium

Location: Douglas County High School Stadium

Square Footage: 101,025

Purpose: County wide usage. Hosting football, soccer, lacrosse, and fund raising events, as well as serving as a practice field for the local high school band and performing squads.

Status: Completed April 2002. Football, soccer, and boys lacrosse lines and numbers are inlaid. Other lines painted seasonally.
